You probably have already seen this, since we’re all following the U.S. Forest Service-Pacific Southwest Region on Twitter:
This looked to be right up my alley, since I’m interested in weather and forests. I met most of the position requirements: U.S. Citizen (yep), valid driver’s license (just checked – it’s valid).
But then they had one more key requirement:
- Ability to ski and snowmobile in harsh winter environment.
I see now why they asked about the driver’s license (although I didn’t know you needed one for a snowmobile). Funny that they didn’t ask if I had ski lift tickets. In any case, I don’t think I have the right stuff to be a USFS Meteorological Technician. I prefer not to have my work day so closely resemble the opening sequence to a James Bond movie.
