It was a busy morning at the bird feeder, with all the usual suspects showing up nearly simultaneously: Chickadee, Towhee, Finch, Junco, and a sparrow of some kind. The Juncos were bold enough to try busting through the thin skin of ice on the bird bath. First time we’ve seen that ice over this winter.
Here’s a nice Dark-eyed Junco up in Lyell Canyon last summer. Looks a lot like one of the guys at the feeder this morning. Probably the same one.
